Who Is Eligible to Join the AFA?

There is a common (and unfortunate) misconception that the Air Force Association is for retired officers.  No so!

We have (as you will see on the sign-up form) nine different categories of individuals eligible for membership.

  • Active Duty (Enlisted & Officer)
  • Current Service US Reserves (Enlisted & Officer)
  • Current Service US National Guard (Enlisted & Officer)
  • Retired US Armed Forces (Enlisted & Officer)
  • Previous Service US Armed Forces (Enlisted & Officer)
  • Spouse/Widow of Above
  • Cadet (Student - ROTC, JrROTC, CAP)
  • Civilian Employess of Department of Air Force (Non-Veteran)
  • Patron (No Service with US Armed Forces)
